18th Century Home — Newburyport, MA

Newburyport's historic district is home to some of the finest 18th century architecture in New England, and this project is a testament to what careful, skilled restoration can achieve. Albion Contracting was commissioned to restore and repaint this landmark property, addressing decades of weathering while preserving the character and integrity of the original structure.

Work on homes of this age requires a different approach than standard painting or renovation. We carefully assessed all surfaces for paint failure, moisture damage, and rot before any work began.

Preparation was extensive — removing all failing paint, repairing damaged wood, and priming bare surfaces with specialized products appropriate for older substrates. We, and the owners, were very pleased with the result - one that honors the home's history while giving it the protection it needs for the decades ahead.
